The short answer: yes - and nothing else is
Soft washing is not just safe for stucco and EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) - it is the only cleaning method these surfaces should ever see. The low-pressure process cleans at roughly garden-hose strength and lets biodegradable solutions do the work, which is exactly what a coated, layered wall system needs.
Why high pressure and stucco do not mix
Traditional stucco is a cement-based coating that can chip, crack, and pit under a concentrated high-pressure stream - and every crack becomes a moisture entry point. EIFS raises the stakes: it is a multi-layer system with foam insulation behind a thin finish coat. Force water through that finish and it can sit inside the wall assembly, exactly where moisture does the most expensive damage.
This is the same reason we soft wash vinyl and brick: high pressure can crack panels, etch masonry, and drive water into wall cavities. On stucco the damage is simply faster and harder to repair invisibly.
What safe stucco cleaning looks like
The growth you see on stucco - green algae, dark mildew streaks, dirt shadowing under sills - lives on the surface texture. A proper soft wash applies eco-friendly solutions that neutralize that growth at the root, lets them dwell, then rinses with high volume and low pressure so the texture is cleaned evenly without being eroded. Landscaping is pre-soaked and protected before anything is applied.
Done this way, the finish stays intact, the color stays even, and because the organisms are killed rather than rinsed, the wall stays clean far longer than it would after any power wash.
